One - Philips Collaboration in Asia Pacific
Royal
Philips Electronics and Planet One have entered
into an agreement whereby Planet One will acquire
Philips Business Communications’ (PBC) businesses
in Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong, and will enter
into a long-term distribution agreement to
distribute Philips products and solutions in these
markets and other countries in Asia-Pacific.
The
Planet One Group will be the exclusive distributor
of Philips' iS3000 range of communications products
in
Malaysia
,
Singapore
,
Hong Kong
,
Thailand
,
Philippines
,
Vietnam
,
Maldives
,
New Zealand
,
India
and
Australia.
The acquired businesses will be housed under
3D Networks, a Planet One subsidiary and a leading
systems integrator in the region. With this
agreement, the PBC teams in
Singapore
, Hong Kong and
Malaysia
been transitioned to 3D Networks and are
be housed in the respective 3D offices in
Singapore
, Hong Kong and
Malaysia
. This team comprises an expert group
trained in web-enabled voice applications and the
Philips SOPHO iS3000 range.
In the Planet One Group, Philips has found a strong
partner who will enable PBC to expand its market
coverage in the region and to take full
advantage of indirect distribution to address the
opportunities offered in the market for converged
solutions. The addition of PBC products to Planet
One's existing first-class portfolio will
strengthen the company's go-to-market and
fits its endeavor to offer "best of breed
solutions" that best fit customer requirements. Philips
customers will also benefit with the increased
number of service points that Planet One and its
subsidiary 3D Networks have to offer through
their strong presence in Asia Pacific.
